PRAYER TO THE RISEN LORD
Lord, we thank you for the Easter feast.
We thank you that after your death and
your descent into hell,
after tasting to the full every kind of abandonment,
you have returned to us;
that you have remembered our insignificant
abandonment
and overwhelmed it with the radiant fullness of your
presence.
Although you suffered the death
that we caused
by the burden of our sins,
you came back to us as our brother
with the gift of your redemption.
You do not make us pay for
having brought you to the Cross
but let us take part in your joy.
You celebrate a reunion with us
as if we had never been unfaithful,
as if we had always awaited you
with faithful trust,
as if we were capable of adding something
ourselves to your joy.
Lord, make us grateful.
Let the thanks we owe you and
your mother
always accompany us from now on,
let them bear fruit,
let them be the pervasive spirit of our service.
Let us be redeemed people who truly fill
their whole life with your redemption,
follow you wherever you go,
and attempt to do your will,
just as you do the Father’s will.
Do not let us merely enjoy the fruit of your Passion
and of your redemption;
let us try, starting today,
to know you as our brother, as our true redeemer
ever in the midst
and always to bear in mind that you are present
and that you have repaid our unfaithfulness with
fidelity
and our unbelief with even greater grace.
Let every day, whether hard or easy,
dawn as a day
that holds the express, or even hidden, joy
of knowing that you have redeemed us
and, returning to the Father, have taken us back
with you.
We ask you now for your Easter blessing,
may it include the blessing of the Father
and of the Spirit. Amen.

We Need Your Help!
On Sunday, May 16th we are planning a Celebration of our Sacred Heart Community! We need volunteers to work on a committee for this event. Please contact Claire at the parish office, 781-862-4646. This is slated to be a FAMILY EVENT.
Book Drive
Wondering what to do with all those books (fiction, nonfiction, and children’s) and magazines that are lying around your house? Bring them to the lower hall at the back of St. Brigid’s next weekend (April 24th and 25th) and the following weekend (May 1st and 2nd) any time between 10 AM and 2 PM. As they did with the fall clothing drive, the students in the LABBB program at the high school will sort all your contributions. They’ll even remove any address labels on your magazines. Then they’ll deliver the books and magazines to senior centers, schools, and hospitals in the area. So clear out your bookshelves and make meaningful work for the LABBB students by dropping those used books and magazines off at St. Brigid's.
Marisol O’Brien and her mother, Tricia, will be traveling to Lourdes, France on April 28th. They have provided a Novena prayer to Our Lady of Lourdes in order that all who would like to pray the nine days before they leave may do so. Please consider this request and pick up a Novena packet as you leave the church and pray with the family for these nine days.

C.L.I. Letters will be mailed soon to teens who will be incoming Freshman, Sophomores, Juniors outlining the opportunity to participate in Catholic Leadership Institute at Merrimack College this July. Several of our teens have participated in this program (as well as the next step: CLIMB). Their commitment, enthusiasm and leadership are very evident in the Sacred Heart faith community during this past year. We need others who will be trained and willing to serve during the years ahead. This is your parish – if you want an active community for young adults, the ball is in your court. Dates for C.L.I.(at Merrimack College) are July 19-23 or July 26-30. Call Maureen or speak to any member of our T.L.C. for more info.
GOSPEL ROAD Finally we have some dates for Gospel Road. It will be the Week of August 9 - 13 at Oakhurst Retreat House in Whitinsville, MA. More info will be on www.OYMBoston.org shortly! This is a wonderful week of service, fun and growing
R2R LENTEN PRAYER GROUP: During Lent, a group of 15 teens and several adults gathered once a week @ 6:30 A.M. to read and reflect on Sunday’s Gospel and share personal experiences. For everyone who participated it has been a significant Lenten journey. A trip to the Cathedral in Boston on this past Wednesday for the Tenebrae celebration was highlighted by a special audience with Archbishop O’Malley. The 6 weeks ended with the group gathering to pray the stations on Good Friday.
We enjoyed a wonderful luncheon, prepared single-handedly by Jo Ciccarelli. We were all so grateful for this enormous effort on her part! Thank you – our faith community has been blessed to have this experience this year.
