PARISH LIFE
As a community of faith, we are committed to the mutual
support and care of our fellow parishioners and to the strangers
in our midst. Our fellowship and welcoming ministries offer
a way to come to know and appreciate each other. By the
intentional commitment to each other and to those who seek
to enter our community, we are faithfully building up the
body of Christ.

The Child Abuse Prevention Team
(the CAP Team) is appointed by the pastor and operates under
the guidelines developed by the Archdiocesan office of Child
Advocacy.
Using the VIRTUS program, "Protecting God's Children,"
the Team provides abuse prevention training to parishioners
and parish staff. The team is also responsible for parish
communications regarding child abuse issues. The team does
not hold regular meetings but is available to meet with
anyone who has questions related to child abuse. Contact
any of the team members with questions and issues.

Parish Welcome
St. Brigid provides a welcoming phone call and information
packet to initiate newly registered members.

Sunday Hospitality
A social gathering after the 9:00am mass that
corresponds to the Children's Liturgy of the Word. It is
a time that allows the parishioners to come together and
visit in a relaxing setting over coffee and refreshments.
Please consider volunteering to help with this important
ministry. Contact Marie Hill at 781-862-6456 for
more information.

Helping Hands
are parishioners who are available to help other parishioners
in need. Helping Hands provide services that include rides
to church, doctor visits, or the hospital. Other services
range from providing a meal to a shut-in, to child-care
to help with shopping. The name and phone number of a monthly
volunteer is listed in the weekly church bulletin. In time
of need, call the Helping Hands volunteer listed. The volunteer
will try to answer the need. There are no regular meetings
scheduled for this group. Volunteers are always needed.
Please contact Edie Martinez at 617-489-3305 for additional
information.

Parish Fellowship
This group of parishioners works together to provide social
and spiritual support to the parish family. This group plans
activities for the parish such as a parish picnic, an ice cream social, an apple
picking outing, and an All Saints celebration. The group meets
as needed to plan the next activity. Contact Janet Fraser
at 781-862-6853 for more information.

Marriage Preparation
Married couples of St Brigid parish provide an opportunity
for engaged couples to think about their marriage, not just
their wedding day. The married couples offer their own experiences
in many aspects of marriage and give the engaged couples
time to think about and discuss their own dreams and expectations.
The program takes place over one weekend in late winter.
The Marriage Prep team meets several times during the year
to plan the weekend events. Many hands are needed to provide
a fun and meaningful experience for the engaged couples.
Contact the office at 781-862-0335 for more information.

Scouts The
Boy Scout Troop 160 and Cub Scout Pack 160 seek to support
the growth of each young boy into a responsible and reliable
young man. By gradually giving each boy more responsibility
and the opportunity to take part in more adventurous activities
each year, the boy grows more independent. Boys can start
as early as first grade as a Tiger Cub then move into Cub
Scouts during second grade. When they reach sixth grade,
they can join the Boy Scouts and take part in weekend camping
activities and a two week long summer camp. Older Boy Scouts
have opportunities with high adventure trips during the
summer such as canoeing in the Boundary Waters, white water
rafting, and hiking in the mountains of New Mexico. See
http://www.lexingtonma.org/Scouting/ for more about Scouting
at St. Brigid's and in Lexington.

Golf Tournament Committee
The Saint Brigid Golf Tournament is an annual event to raise
money for college scholarships for parish high school seniors
as well as to foster community and just have fun! The committee
plans the event. Contact Father Smith at 781-862-0335 for
